About the Owner

turnbaughChris Turnbaugh was born and raised in Saint Peters, MO. After several stints in piano lessons and even a year of clarinet, he received his first bass guitar. After that fateful Christmas day back in 1995, he quickly fell in love and decided that music would be a part of his life forever. Throughout his career, Chris played with many of the greatest rock and jazz musicians in St. Louis and beyond, including Groupthink, Downtime, Steve Ewing Band, Matt Steel, Martina McBride, members of Little Big Town, Eric Slaughter Trio, Willie Akins, Javier Mendoza, and so many more. Chris obtained a BM in Music Performance from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in which he took recording class and three years of piano classes among other things. Through all this and also teaching guitar and bass for a decade, Chris has become very well-rounded and knowledgeable. He has been recording and building up his studio for five years, and now his name is credited on national releases, featuring names like Darin Gray and Glenn Kotche, and even a Lions Gate/FEARnet short film. Samples of his playing can be found on this very site and also here.
